Kuala Lumpur, 26 November 2024 – In a strategic move to accelerate Selangor’s journey toward becoming a leading digital state, SmartSel Sdn Bhd and EDOTCO Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the national tower infrastructure company, have formalised their strategic collaboration to enhance the state’s digital infrastructure. The MOU exchange, witnessed by YB Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications, took place at TowerXchange Meetup Asia, a prestigious gathering for the global telecom tower industry held at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur on 26 & 27 November 2024.

This partnership is integral to supporting Selangor’s ambitious vision to be a “Smart State” by 2025, emphasising the integration of advanced technologies to elevate residents’ quality of life and stimulate economic growth. Through this collaboration, Smartsel and EDOTCO aim to contribute to a connected, resilient, and forward-looking Selangor.

The collaboration involves deploying new infrastructure across Selangor and accelerating the rollout of essential digital assets to enhance state connectivity. The partnership also includes implementing Integrated Building Solutions (IBS) within both state and private buildings, creating more connected public spaces. Smart services will be introduced to improve urban management and the quality of life for residents. These services, including autonomous vehicle technology, flood detection sensors, and waste management projects, are designed to increase safety, streamline city operations, and foster sustainable practices. Additionally, advanced asset inspection, digital twin and predictive maintenance from Smartsel will ensure reliable communications networks, providing the community with robust and uninterrupted digital services.
