EDOTCO Bangladesh has entered into a Space and Power Lease Agreement with Summit Communications Limited, marking a renewed phase of collaboration between two organisations that have long played central roles in strengthening the country’s telecommunications backbone. The agreement reflects a shared commitment to expanding reliable, high-quality connectivity while supporting the next chapter of Bangladesh’s digital development.

A Strengthened Commitment to National Connectivity

The agreement was formalised during a signing ceremony at EDOTCO’s office, where senior leaders from both organisations reaffirmed a long-held commitment to improving the reliability, stability, and reach of Bangladesh’s connectivity ecosystem. The moment reflected not just the formalisation of a commercial partnership, but the alignment of two national infrastructure leaders working toward a common goal: ensuring that Bangladesh’s digital growth is supported by a strong and scalable foundation.

Summit Communications Limited, as the nationwide NTTN operator, operates one of the country’s most extensive telecommunications networks, supported by more than 58,000 kilometres of fiber. Its nationwide backbone is central to enabling high-capacity transmission and consistent digital services across the entire country. Combined with EDOTCO’s widespread tower network and deep experience in infrastructure solutions, the two organisations form a complementary partnership that strengthens the integrity of Bangladesh’s end-to-end connectivity chain.

Shaping the Industry Through Long-Term Collaboration

Under the renewed five-year agreement, Summit and EDOTCO are setting up the groundwork for a more integrated infrastructure model. Their collaboration supports a more efficient build-out of high-capacity, low-latency transmission between sites nationwide, ensuring operators have the performance and stability required for modern services.

The partnership also unlocks greater opportunities to serve rural and semi-urban areas, where demand for reliable connectivity continues to rise as communities shift toward digital services.

The long-term horizon of the agreement allows both organisations to coordinate more seamlessly on rollout plans, enabling faster development of new sites, smoother integration of colocation opportunities, and better preparation for 4G and 5G-ready infrastructure. As network demands intensify, the ability to deploy, upgrade, and expand efficiently becomes critical. This agreement provides the structure and shares operational framework needed to support that acceleration.

Enabling a More Connected Bangladesh

Bangladesh’s digital transformation depends on strong and dependable transmission infrastructure. As data usage grows, cloud adoption increases, and digital services become more embedded in daily life, the need for uninterrupted and scalable networks becomes even more pressing. The combined capabilities of Summit’s extensive fiber backbone and EDOTCO’s national site footprint strengthen the country’s network resilience at a time when it matters most.

This partnership supports wider digital participation, enabling businesses, institutions, and everyday users to access services with greater consistency. Every improvement in uptime, capacity, and coverage contributes to national progress—boosting economic activity, enabling more efficient service delivery, and creating stronger connectivity pathways for communities across Bangladesh.

A Forward-Looking Collaboration

Both organisations view this agreement as part of a broader journey to support Bangladesh’s digital transformation. As the nation moves toward more advanced technologies and smarter infrastructure, strong partnerships between transmission providers and infrastructure specialists become increasingly important.

EDOTCO Bangladesh remains committed to working together to build a network foundation that is resilient, future-ready, and capable of supporting the country’s continued economic and social progress.
